Built in 2010, with the discerning holidaymaker in mind, the luxurious, stone-built Villa Gelincik (Turkish for Poppy) is equipped with all the modern conveniences for a seamless holiday whilst still keeping a sensitive eye on the past with a collection of local antiques from the Ottoman era displayed throughout the villa.  Backing onto the hillside, with spectacular views over Selimiye Village and bay, the 4-bedroomed villa affords a high degree of privacy as it is not overlooked by other properties.  Villa Gelincik makes use of the natural terraces to provide a wonderful outdoor dining area, a sun-drenched infinity pool, shaded gazebo areas, almond trees and century old olive trees under which to while away the hours perhaps sipping a long G&T.  The garden and surrounding countryside are especially pretty in April when the almond trees are in full blossom in readiness for the July harvest.  The Villa Gelincik is approached by a small lane with several traditional village houses along the way and you’ll quite often come across the odd chicken, goat or sheep scurrying out of your way as you approach the private parking area.  Take a 25 minute walk down the hill to the village and waterfront and enjoy a glass of local cay in the teahouse, a glass of chilled wine in one of the restaurants or just browse in the gift shops on the quayside.

Villa Gelincik has 4 air-conditioned bedrooms that can comfortably sleep 8.  The 2 double bedrooms and the twin room upstairs have en-suites and the double room on the ground floor shares the adjacent family bathroom. All bedrooms are furnished with a light and airy décor, ceramic tiled floors, fitted wardrobes and individual balconies from which to enjoy the panoramic sea views.  The twin bedroom has the same facilities but its balcony overlooks the pool.  There is a safety deposit box in the master bedroom.  All the bathrooms are spacious and have walk-in showers.

The air-conditioned living area in the Villa Gelincik is open plan and includes; a fully-equipped integrated kitchen with 5-ring gas hob, separate oven, microwave, full-size fridge, dishwasher, kettle and a toaster (a washing machine is located in the downstairs room); an adjacent dining area; the sunken lounge has a beautifully, hand-crafted, natural stone fireplace, stone columns, large windows affording stunning views and is furnished with wide comfortable settees, a flat-screen TV, DVD player, sound system and Wi-Fi.  There is also a supply of over 300 books to choose from, so no need to waste any of your precious luggage allowance.

The delightful garden provides an outdoor eating area next to the kitchen under a shaded pergola, a settee with comfortable cushions for enjoying the views, a stunning infinity pool (5m x 8m with a consistent depth of 1.5m) with an adjacent, sunken sunbathing  area or, for those who prefer, plenty of space to relax under the shade of the almond trees and a separate corner with cushions to make most of the afternoon sea breeze coming up the hillside.

The Villa Gelincik, Turkey is offered on a Self Catering basis with a basic welcome pack on arrival.  Daily light cleaning and linens changed 2 times per week.

An excellent choice for families or groups of friends wanting to sample a taste of the true Turkey.

Transfer time approximately: 2 hours 40 mins

Please Note: A £300 cash deposit is required on arrival to be held against any breakages which may occur. This will be refunded at the end of your stay.
