Itinerary:
DAY 1: Land at Goa's Dabolim
Airport where, depending on arrival
time, you should have a
chance for a couple of hours 'R&R'
at a nearby hotel before returning to
the airport to take the afternoon flight to Delhi, the
nation's capital. Transfer to Lemon Tree Hotel, or similar. Balance of the
afternoon and evening at leisure.
DAY 2: Full day sight-seeing of Old
and New Delhi; Qutb Minar,
Humayun's Tomb, the Birla Temple, the
majestic Government Buildings, the Red
Fort, Jami Masjid (India's largest
mosque) and the bazaars of Chandni
Chowk. In the evening, there will be an
optional opportunity to participate in a
cultural evening. Overnight at the Lemon Tree Hotel or similar in Delhi.
DAY 3: Early morning departure from Delhi to Agra onboard the Shatabdi Express. Have your camera at the ready as you pass by hundreds of Indian villages, an amazing sight. Upon arrival in Agra, transfer to the hotel, Clarks Shiraz or similar, followed by an afternoon visit to the world famous Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4: After breakfast, drive to Jaipur, a distance of 250km which will take approximately 6 hours. En-route, visit Akbar's fabulous deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri and visit the Ahbaneri Step Wells, one of India's deepest and largest step wells, a sight to behold. Overnight at Paradise Hotel or similar.
DAY 5: Full day sight-seeing of the 'Pink City'; in the morning, it's off to
the Hawa Mahal ('Palace of the Winds')
for a photo stop after visiting the Amber Fort, about 10 km out of town for a ponderous ascent by elephant (subject to availability). In the afternoon, a visit to the Maharaja's Palace and the Jantar Mantar, the largest stone-built observatory in the world. Overnight in the Hotel Paradise or similar.
DAY 6: After breakfast drive back to Delhi Airport (approximately 250km, 5 hours) to board your flight to Goa. There will be plenty of stops along the way for refreshment and a chance to stretch your legs.
Bed & Breakfast basis throughout.
