Marquis Beach Resort, Candolim, Goa

The Marquis Beach Resort in Goa is a lovely boutique hotel with only 42 rooms is situated on Candolim beach. For clients who know Goa it is approximately a 5 minute walk from the Taj Holiday Village.

The Marquis Beach, with its long history of regular repeat clients from all over the world, has been run by Simon Fernandes, a very experienced hotelier, for ten years and the standards are superb. The hotel is built in Portugese style on two storeys and built with an open courtyard, the Marquis Beach Resort has an attractive swimming pool with plenty of space for sunbathing and on the other side of the pool there is a dance area and the hotel offers live music four times per week. The swimming pool is served by a bar and restaurant and is the perfect place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. This area leads onto delightful gardens, shaded with coconut trees, ideal for sunbathing and generally relaxing on the sun loungers provided.

Since our last visit an additional block has been added to the Marquis Beach Resort in Candolim however, this does not spoil the ambience of the hotel, which continues to offer high levels of satisfaction in a friendly and informal atmosphere. The gardens lead directly to the beach facing Shiro Beach Restaurant, which is about 25 feet above sea level. The views of the beach shacks and the Arabian sea are absolutely spectacular and there is no better place to sit in the late afternoon, sipping a gin and tonic, waiting for the stunning Goa sunsets. There are steps leading directly down to Candolim beach where there are plenty of beach shacks which tend to be a little more sophisticated in this area of Candolim.

All of the twin rooms at the Marquis Beach are very comfortable and offer air-conditioning, TV with BBC world, mini-bar, en-suite shower & WC and a balcony or terrace.

Accommodation is offered on Bed and Continental breakfast basis. Christmas and New Year festive meals are also included.

The Marquis Beach Hotel is superbly located and is highly recommended.
